Amenti was honestly a solid time. You play as a photographer who ventures into the Great Pyramids to capture photos of Pharaoh Rudamon’s remains… and because this is a horror game, that obviously means you accidentally get cursed by an ancient mummy. As one does.

The game isn’t super heavy on story, but there’s just enough there to understand what’s going on without dragging things out. The gameplay felt smooth, the atmosphere was definitely creepy, and there were a few jump scares that were absolutely diabolical. Like, caught-me-off-guard-in-the-worst-way kind of diabolical.

It took me about 2.3 hours to finish on stream, but keep in mind a chunk of that was spent talking to chat. If you were just doing a straight playthrough, I’d say it’s probably closer to 1.75–2 hours total, which honestly felt like a good length for this type of game.

Overall, Amenti isn’t the best horror game I’ve ever played, but it was definitely entertaining, spooky, and fun to experience live. If you’re looking for a creepy, well-made horror game that doesn’t overstay its welcome, I’d absolutely recommend giving it a try!

Amenti genuinely surprised me and that’s partly because I kept my expectations firmly in check going in. The storyline itself isn’t anything wild, but the way it weaves in real Egyptian mythology facts makes it way more engaging than expected. It sparked a ton of conversation with chat, which honestly elevated the whole experience.

The game feels well-paced for what it is and works nicely as a single-session playthrough. It gives you enough time to soak in the atmosphere. You’re trapped in pyramids with ancient mummies, so yes, of course the devs leaned into the scares. And to their credit, they worked. They worked very well. The atmosphere is tense and immersive, and the scare placement keeps you on edge without feeling cheap.

While the main narrative is fairly straightforward, the inclusion of legitimate Egyptian mythology details adds depth and flavor. It’s not groundbreaking storytelling, but it’s interesting enough to keep you paying attention and chatting about it.

The puzzles aren’t overly complex, but they’re fun and fit the theme. Using your camera as a primary mechanic was a highlight for me and kept things feeling interactive rather than repetitive. From a streaming standpoint, Amenti is a great time. Chat and I loved diving into the convos about the mythology, the scares landed well on camera, and the gameplay stayed smooth overall. There were a few touchy moments, but those could’ve easily been connection-related rather than the game itself.

Amenti isn’t a game I’d write home about but it is one I had a lot of fun playing, especially with the community. Solid scares, a strong atmosphere, and enough interesting details to keep things lively make this a worthwhile pick for both playing and streaming.
