Apartment 22
Jen's Review
Apartment 22 was short — even by indie horror standards (.8 hours playtime to completion and talking to chat accounts for some of that)— but honestly? It was pretty dang unique.
The standout feature here is the voice control mechanic, and that alone made the experience worth it. Being able to say certain phrases out loud and have the ghost actually respond and trigger events in real time was WILD. That part genuinely caught me off guard and made things feel way more immersive (and stressful in the best way).
The game was definitely creepy, and there were some solid jumpscares that got both me and chat good. I will say, the whole “stuck in a loop” concept has been done a lot in horror games, so it didn’t feel super fresh story-wise — but the voice interaction helped it stand out enough to keep things interesting.
Overall, it was short, sweet, and entertaining, especially for a live playthrough. It’s not at the very top of my must-play list, but if you’re running low on horror games and need something quick that still delivers some good scares, Apartment 22 is definitely worth checking out.
Chat and I had a good time — and that counts for a lot. 👀💀
