Jen's Review

January 4, 2026

Backroom Exit From Supermarket was… kind of a reality check for me. And I say that as someone who is a huge Backrooms fan. Y’all know I will defend the genre with my whole chest—but this game was the first time I really had to admit that not all Backrooms games are created equal.

I’m gonna be upfront: I didn’t finish this one.

And if you’ve been around my channel at all, you already know why. I am ate up with the ADHD. If a game doesn’t grab me—even just a little—within the first 15–20 minutes, my brain taps out. I try. I really do. But if the hook isn’t there, it’s over.

Unfortunately, this one just didn’t hook me.

Maybe it was the pacing. Maybe it was the gameplay. Maybe I just caught it on a bad day and wasn’t in the right headspace. Whatever the reason, it didn’t pull me in, and I found myself bored rather than uneasy—which is kind of the opposite of what I want from a Backrooms game.

Now, to be fair: this is purely my personal opinion. Some of y’all might absolutely love this game, and that’s totally valid. Horror is subjective, vibes matter, and what doesn’t work for me might work perfectly for you.

I might give it another shot down the road to see if it hits differently—but for now? I’m gonna say don’t waste your time unless you’re already curious and want to judge it for yourself.

To each their own… but this one just wasn’t it for me. 👀
