Bendy and the Ink Machine
Jen's Review
Bendy and the Ink Machine is a first-person puzzle action horror game that will absolutely ruin your childhood love of cartoons — in the best way possible. You play as a former animator who returns to an old animation studio at the request of your ex-boss, Joey Drew… and let’s just say, things are very wrong and very not how you remember them.
First off, I have to talk about the style of this game, because I LOVED it. It looks like a creepy, old-timey 2D cartoon, but somehow still manages to feel unsettling and uncomfortable. It’s not super atmospheric in the same way a lot of indie horror games are, but it still gives you those constant something-is-not-right vibes.
This game is actually PERFECT for people who are new to horror. The puzzles are fun and engaging, there are chase sequences that keep you on edge, and the story is original enough to keep you invested without being overwhelming. It eases you into the scares instead of throwing you directly into nightmare fuel… which I honestly appreciated.
It is a little longer than your typical indie horror game, but it never felt dragged out. I genuinely felt like I got my money’s worth, and the story kept me interested all the way through.
Overall, this is a really solid horror experience — especially if you’re just dipping your toes into the genre or want something creepy without being absolutely traumatized.
Definitely recommend! 👀🖤
