Jen's Review
The Demon Baby Took a Nap
Coming off Ethel, I was hyped for Claire—and while it’s definitely solid, I have to admit I liked Ethel’s story just a little more. Don’t get me wrong, Claire still has a good story, and it ties in with Ethel nicely. The monster chases were a real highlight—tense enough to make me panic, but not so unfair that I wanted to rage quit... Ok. Maybe once or twice.
The scares were decent. Not bad, not mind-blowing, but a few of them got me good enough that my chat probably clipped it for blackmail. And yes, the demon baby still popped in every now and then—just enough to remind me of my trauma—but honestly, it felt like the little heffer was on break most of the game. Which, sure, is great for my nerves, but I kind of missed the full-time chaos.
Overall, Claire is a good follow-up. It may not have hooked me quite as hard as Ethel, but it’s still worth playing if you like spooky stories, nerve-wracking chase scenes, and occasional run-ins with everyone’s least favorite daycare drop-out.
Definitely Recommended. Not quite the scream-fest its predecessor was, but still a fun ride.
Quick Summary: Demon baby in Ethel: nightmare fuel. Demon baby in Claire: Took an extended nap time.
Kayla's Review
Claire is one of those horror games that clearly wants you to feel uncomfortable, and to be fair, it does a pretty good job of it. From the eerie visuals to the sad, spooky vibes, the game immediately lets you know that you’re not here to have a good time… emotionally, at least.
The atmosphere is where Claire really shines. Everything feels gloomy, distorted, and just off enough to keep you on edge. The story slowly unravels as you explore, and if you’re the type who enjoys piecing together creepy narratives through environmental clues, Claire definitely has something for you. It’s heavy, it’s dark, and it’s not exactly a feel-good adventure.
That said, while I genuinely enjoyed playing Claire, I wasn’t exactly screaming in fear the whole time. The game leans more psychological and subtle…lots of dread, fewer heart-attack, f%#! off moments. And personally, when it comes to scares, I have to give the edge to Ethel. Ethel had me constantly on edge, while Claire was more like a slow, ominous stare from across the room.
That doesn’t mean Claire isn’t good… it just means it’s scary in a “sit with your thoughts and feel uneasy” way rather than a “throw your mouse” way. If you like horror that messes with your head more than your blood pressure, this game will be right up your alley.
Final Thoughts: Claire is creepy, sad, and atmospheric in all the right ways. While I personally found Ethel scarier, Claire is still a solid horror game that’s worth checking out!
