Elevator
Jen's Review
I want to start by saying—I actually like this game.
Elevator is a really fun and interesting concept. Each floor gives you something different to figure out, and trying to understand what each one wants you to do in order to “clear” it was both challenging and engaging.
The atmosphere is also really well done. It pulls you in quickly, and while the sound design can get a little chaotic at times, it honestly works in the game’s favor. It helps set the tone and adds to that uneasy feeling as you move from floor to floor.
This game has huge potential.
That said… I do have one major issue—and this is more of a note to the developers.
The game is very glitchy.
There were multiple times where I had to exit and restart a floor because something broke to the point where I couldn’t continue. For example, on floor 1, I threw a bunch of objects around and ended up getting stuck inside them, completely unable to move.
Floor 7 had some noticeable issues as well. The elevator itself didn’t seem properly aligned with the environment—you can actually see inside it around the edges even when the door is closed. There were also some gameplay-breaking bugs, like grabbing a talisman before sitting in the chair causing the chair to launch across the room. When standing up afterward, it would glitch me through the floor and force a restart.
This happened multiple times, so it’s definitely something that needs attention.
That said, underneath those issues, there’s a really fun game here.
The concept is strong, the atmosphere works, and the gameplay loop is genuinely engaging when everything is functioning properly.
Once those glitches are ironed out, this could easily be a standout experience.
For now, I’d say it’s worth keeping an eye on—and I’ll happily move this to a full recommendation once those issues are fixed. 👀
