Kayla's Review
Going into The Mimic, I wasn’t expecting much more than “haha Roblox spooky,” but I was very quickly proven wrong. This game goes way harder than it has any right to. And for something built inside Roblox, it’s honestly kind of impressive.
Let’s start with the atmosphere. The Mimic absolutely nails the creepy vibes: dark hallways, unsettling sounds, things lurking just out of view, and the constant feeling that you definitely shouldn’t be here. The scares themselves are solid… although I will admit I didn’t have many moments where I was truly scared out of my mind. At this point, I’m either severely desensitized to horror or an undiagnosed psychopath…jury’s still out. That said, the jump scares and tension are great for what this game is and where it lives.
One thing I did struggle with was knowing what I was supposed to be doing about 20% of the time. There were several moments where I was wandering around like, “Yes, this is terrifying… but also, where am I going?” Some objectives can be a little vague, which adds to the fear but also adds to the confusion. Nothing breaks immersion quite like being hunted by a demon while you’re lost because you missed a random door three rooms back.
Despite that, I genuinely enjoyed playing The Mimic. The environments are detailed, the pacing is solid, and the effort put into the horror design is way above what you’d expect from a Roblox game. The fact that it manages to deliver effective scares, tension, and atmosphere on this platform is honestly the most impressive part.
Final Thoughts: The Mimic is a surprisingly well-made horror game that proves Roblox horror can actually slap. Even if it didn’t scare the soul out of me personally, the scares are effective, the vibes are creepy, and the overall experience is absolutely worth playing!
