Unhinged completely caught me off guard... and yes, it's a Netflix game.

You heard that right.

Netflix.

You play it on your TV or in your browser, and your cellphone becomes the controller.

Before I say anything else...

Netflix... we need more of this!

This was honestly one of the coolest horror gaming experiences I've had in a long time.

The game itself isn't very long, but from the moment it started, I was completely hooked. Not just because of the story or the scares, but because of how incredibly creative the mechanics are.

Your phone isn't just a controller—it's actually part of the game.

When you move your phone, your flashlight moves with it. If your character falls, your phone screen actually cracks. Touch the screen, and it leaves bloody fingerprints behind. At one point, your friend in the game literally calls your real phone, and you have to answer it to continue.

I probably spent the first 45 minutes just geeking out over how cool all of those little details were.

And the best part is that the gimmick never overshadows the horror.

The story kept me invested from beginning to end, the atmosphere was genuinely tense, and I felt like I was in a constant state of panic wondering what was going to happen next. Every new mechanic made me smile, and every scare kept me on edge.

It's rare that a horror game feels genuinely different these days, but Unhinged absolutely does. It takes a familiar horror formula and completely changes how you experience it by making your phone part of the game itself.

Overall, I had an absolute blast with Unhinged. It's creative, immersive, surprisingly intense, and one of the most unique horror experiences I've played in a long time. If this is the direction Netflix wants to take with interactive horror games, I'm all in.

So once again...

Netflix... we need more of these. ASAP.

UNHINGED is honestly one of my favorite games we've played this year. And guess what? It's not a PC game. It's not on Steam, or Epic, or GamePass, or Itch.io. It's on.... NETFLIX.

Yep... Netflix. Right on your TV.

When I first got word of this game I think I basically eye-rolled it. Because... a Netflix game? Really? What am I supposed to use... My remote? No thanks. I WAS SO UNBELIEVABLY WRONG

Unhinged is a beautifully unique experience... not just a game. You play the game by pulling it up on your TV or PC. It provides a QR code that you scan with your phone, download the Netflix Controller App, and then you're ready to rock. But this isn't a matter of your phone just having a directional pad where you control the character. No, no, no.

Your phone is APART of the game. Which makes this even more unique and immersive. Your phone becomes your flashlight, your communication device and your lifeline. When you move around, you see your flashlight moving on the screen. Navigating around the spaces is super simple with just moving your phone around to see the next directional arrow to click. And then.. you receive your first phone call. And it looks like a legitimate call coming through to YOUR phone. You have to answer it and you hear the voice actress talking to you. You receive text messages that come through to your phone that you have to read.

What's even cooler? Spoiler alert... There's a part in the game where you take a pretty hard fall. Which means your character's phone hits pretty hard. When you look down at YOUR phone, it looks like the screen is cracked! THAT'S how much detail they added into this and how much they include your own device.

I swear to you... it is the coolest, most creative, unique, fun games I think I've ever played. Everything ran incredibly smooth. The graphics were INSANE and super cinematic. Sound design was done perfectly. It's not a very long experience... I think it took us about 25 minutes with geeking with chat over how neat everything was. But even still.. it was SO GOOD.

Netflix gave me a survey option after I played asking what I thought of the game. I simply put: WE NEED MORE

Because seriously, Netflix. WE NEED MORE OF THIS. More of this creativity. More experience rather than just gameplay.

I genuinely cannot hype this game up enough. If you've not given it a try, I highly recommend doing so just to be able to say you played it. If you're bored at home one night with the fam, or your partner, have free time on your own... just do it. I promise you that you will not regret it!

I'm going to hope that Netflix took my survey response seriously and that they give us more games like this soon ;)
