Jen's Review

Until Dawn completely surprised me.

If you've watched my streams before, you know the type of horror games I usually gravitate toward. I love creepy atmospheres, exploration, solving puzzles, getting chased by monsters, and of course... plenty of jumpscares.

Until Dawn isn't really that kind of game.

Instead, it's more like an interactive horror movie. You spend a lot of your time watching the story unfold, but at key moments, you're put in control of different characters and forced to make decisions. The catch? Every single choice has consequences. The decisions you make determine who lives, who dies, and ultimately how the story ends.

Because of that, no two playthroughs are exactly the same. You could play this game five, ten, or even fifteen times and still end up with different outcomes depending on the choices you make.

Normally, this isn't the style of game I'd reach for.

But let me tell you... I absolutely loved the crap out of this game.

Playing it live on stream was an absolute blast. My chat and I spent the entire game debating which characters we liked, which ones we couldn't stand, who deserved to survive, and who... well... we weren't exactly heartbroken about if they didn't make it. Every decision felt important, and every time the game made me choose, I found myself second-guessing everything.

The funniest part?

I spent my entire first playthrough trying my absolute hardest to save as many people as possible.

By the time the credits rolled... only three people survived.

And somehow, they weren't even the three people I had been trying to protect the whole game.

That's what makes Until Dawn so special. It constantly keeps you guessing, throws twists at you that you genuinely don't see coming, and reminds you that even your best intentions don't always lead to the outcome you expected.

The story is fantastic, the characters are memorable, and the branching paths make it incredibly replayable. In fact, I enjoyed this game so much that it completely opened my eyes to this style of horror. Since finishing it, I've already played two more story-driven horror games and have several more lined up to play.

Overall, I can't recommend Until Dawn enough. Whether you're a hardcore horror fan or someone who's usually intimidated by the genre, this is one of those games that I think almost everyone should experience at least once. The story is excellent, the choices feel meaningful, and I can almost guarantee there will be at least one twist that completely catches you off guard.

This one is an easy recommendation from me.
