Ward 777
Jen's Review
Ward 777 was a pretty solid experience.
I’m not going to say it’s the best horror game I’ve ever played—because, let’s be honest, I’ve played a lot—but it’s definitely one I’d recommend if you’re looking for something that keeps you on edge.
The atmosphere is where this game really delivers.
You’re thrown into this abandoned asylum/ward setting, and it checks all the boxes. Dark hallways, unsettling rooms, and that constant feeling that something is just around the corner. Things move, things jump out at you, and there are definitely a few moments that lean fully into that “okay, absolutely not” kind of horror.
And then there’s the fact that you’re not alone.
There’s something actively following you, and it keeps the pressure high the entire time. It turns simple exploration into full-on panic, especially when you’re not sure where it’s coming from—or when it’s about to show up.
If I had one complaint, it would be the story.
I found myself wanting a little more backstory and explanation about what was actually happening. The experience is strong from a gameplay and atmosphere standpoint, but I do tend to prefer horror games with a bit more lore to dig into. That’s just a personal preference, though.
Because if what you’re looking for is pure tension and panic?
This game absolutely delivers.
Overall, Ward 777 is a solid horror experience that does a great job of keeping you uncomfortable from start to finish.
Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the mood for something intense. 👀
